The course provides students with the skills and knowledge to use Operations Research (OR) Methods commonly used in health technology assessment and health system planning. Methods taught will include Discrete Event Simulation, optimisation methods, and decision analysis methods such as MultiCriteria Decision Analysis.
![]() | Dr Alec Morton Professor, University of Strathclyde Dr. Alec Morton has degrees from the University of Manchester and the University of Strathclyde. He has worked for Singapore Airlines, the National University of Singapore, and the London School of Economics, has held visiting positions at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Aalto University in Helsinki, the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in Hefei, and the National Audit Office and is a member of the International Decision Support Initiative. His main interests are in decision analysis and health economics. Alec has been active in the INFORMS Decision Analysis Society, EURO and ISPOR. He is on the Editorial Board of Decision Analysis and is an Associate Editor for the EURO Journal on Decision Processes, the Transactions of the Institute of Industrial Engineers, and OR Spectrum. |

Her current work involves understanding patient preferences for high cost treatments, public preferences for preemptive pharmacogenetic testing and factors associated with well-being among Singaporeans. |
