Course outline

This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver value-based care, emphasizing patient outcomes over volume of services. Participants will learn to assess and improve care quality, efficiency, and patient satisfaction while considering cost-effectiveness, benchmarking and programme evaluation. It aims to equip participants with the skills to design strategies for delivering high-value care in their practice settings, ultimately enhancing patient outcomes and healthcare system sustainability.

Learning objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how to incentivise providers to deliver value-based care and encourage patients to demand value-based care
  • Describe the role of:
    • Health technology assessment in supporting value-based care
    • Programme evaluation in supporting value-based care
  • Describe the use of data analytics to reduce waste in the health system
  • Formulate strategies to optimize resource utilization and strategies for change management to encourage value-based care
